The self-portrait consisted on accuracy on the face structure and physical features on my face. A skill that I have seemed to have mastered is drawing the consistency on my making sure my face is three quarters. One of the many elemants that I have used is value. It was kind of difficult to shade in where to create my value and making sure it's in the correct spot. Another reason why I had trouble with value was where my face was facing towards the light showing some light and dark features. Another element that I have used is color. To properly make it look like me, I had to lightly color in my face with a hint of brown and white. For the lightness of my face I used yellow to represent it. And lastly for color, I made sure to properly color in my lips with the top slightly darker and shaded in than the bottom lip. Overall I thought my final portrait looks mostly like me because of the percision and time that I've taken on it. The landscape drawing consisted of drawing outside and what you see in perspective. One skill that I have learned from the work is that it takes time to be percise and accurate. One of the many elements from the drawing was shape. My shape was tough to draw because of how small and detailed my leaves were, and I had to be careful on how big or small I drew it. Another element that I used was form. My form consisted on my mountain and the trees. It was difficult to use the right color and shade especially to really have it there. The shading created something unique to because it added value to it. The balance of my drawing made it look as if it was really in the position where the photo was taken. The interior and exterior finale consisted on percision and accuracy. The drawing represented the angle and viewpoint where I was drawing from or you could say took a picture. To really make everything accurate, I used a vanishing point and orthogonals. Something I have learned from these drawings is that you have to use the tool that you are drawing from and see and measure to draw. Each line that you draw do make a difference. If one is behind another or in front of it can ruin how it is viewed. An element that was mostly used was lines. Using lines do create how the "drawing" is shown and created a optical illusion. If everything is drawn correctly the eye can catch where the position of the place was. The final drawing is parallel lines created, making some sort of form connecting onto other shapes. The parallel lines create a three dimensional shape or the illusion of something that looks into the shape. A skill that I have learned that it's simple to create parallel lines, however the complexity increases and becomes more difficult to do see and vision. An element that was greatly used in the final was lines. Creating lines eventually becomes a shape. The lines create the illusion of something that looks imbalanced. Also, lines make things look as if inside of a shape or goes through it. What makes the final most interesting is that the eye catches the shape making it look as if you are seeing it from that point of view. The final piece of the spiral lines was made out of many different shapes such as squares, rectangles and triangles. Creating the spirals was time consuming and tends to get easier as you finish towards the end. A skill that I have gained from doing this is my accurate measurement from doing the lines constantly. The spiral lines have created the illusion of something that's not there and shows the beauty behind it. Looking at the the way each shape and line come together, it's truly amazing. |
